Spatial Validation of Spectral Unmixing Results: A Systematic Review

چکیده
The pixels of remote images often contain more than one distinct material (mixed pixels), and so their spectra are characterized by a mixture spectral signals. Since 1971, shared effort has enabled the development techniques for retrieving information from mixed pixels. most analyzed, implemented, employed procedure is unmixing. Among extensive literature on unmixing, nineteen reviews were identified, each highlighted many shortcomings spatial validation. Although an overview approaches used to spatially validate could be very helpful in overcoming its shortcomings, review them was never provided. Therefore, this systematic provides updated used, analyzing papers that published 2022, 2021, 2020, dated overview, not only 2011 2010, but also 1996 1995. key criterion results unmixing validated. Web Science Scopus databases searched, using all names assigned as keywords. A total 454 eligible included review. Their analysis revealed six issues validation considered differently addressed: number validated endmembers; sample sizes sampling designs reference data; sources creation fractional abundance maps; data with other minimization evaluation errors co-localization resampling. addressing these authors overcome some validation, it recommended addressed together. However, few together, did specify approach or adequately explain methods employed.

Validation of Abundance Map Reference Data for Spectral Unmixing
The purpose of this study is to validate the accuracy of abundance map reference data (AMRD) for three airborne imaging spectrometer (IS) scenes. AMRD refers to reference data maps (“ground truth”) that are specifically designed to quantitatively assess the performance of spectral unmixing algorithms. While classification algorithms typically label whole pixels as belonging to certain ground co...
متن کاملGPU Implementation of Spatial-Spectral Preprocessing for Hyperspectral Unmixing
Spectral unmixing pursues the identification of spectrally pure constituents, called endmembers, and their corresponding abundances in each pixel of a hyperspectral image. Most unmixing techniques have focused on the exploitation of spectral information alone. Recently, some techniques have been developed to take advantage of the complementary information provided by the spatial correlation of ...
متن کاملFusion of Hyperspectral and Panchromatic Images Using Spectral Unmixing Results
Hyperspectral imaging, due to providing high spectral resolution images, is one of the most important tools in the remote sensing field. Because of technological restrictions hyperspectral sensors has a limited spatial resolution. On the other hand panchromatic image has a better spatial resolution. Combining this information together can provide a better understanding of the target scene. Spec...
متن کاملFurther results on relationship between spectral unmixing and subspace projection
A recent short communication [1] showed that an orthogonal subspace projection (OSP) classifier developed for hyperspectral image classification in [2] was equivalent to a maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) resulting from a standard method of linear unmixing. It further concluded that the MLE subsumed the OSP classifier in spite of a constant difference in their magnitudes. Coincidentally, the ...
